Guide to Calvia

Nestled in the foothills of the Tramuntana Mountain range on the southwest of Mallorca, Calvia it is within easy reach of many of the islands major resorts. Traditional ochre-coloured houses sit amongst carob and almond trees with properties in Calvia comprising of apartments and period townhouses. 

Calvia is the perfect place from which to explore neighbouring resorts and its proximity to the Tramuntana mountains offers hikers and mountain bikers plenty of scope for exploring the beautiful countryside. The beautiful coastline nearby includes ten Blue Flag beaches, so relaxing after an exhilarating ride is easy.

Calvia itself dates back to 1249. It’s a lovely, sleepy old town surrounded by pine-clad hills accommodating a modern town hall and sports stadium. The heart of Calvia is the church of Sant Joan Baptista, originally dating back to the thirteenth century with the current edifice being constructed in the nineteenth century.

There are several fabulous golf courses locally, meaning golf lovers will be in their element in Calvia with Real Golf de Bendinat being amongst the best. This par-70, the 18-hole course nestles in a beautiful wooded valley overlooking the sea.
